“Allah, the Almighty, created mankind for His worship, and the worship performed by human beings establishes a relationship between Allah and humanity. Worship encompasses two aspects: one involves specific acts that directly connect the worshiper with Allah, and the other entails obeying Allah in various aspects of life, such as showing respect to parents and avoiding usury (RIBA).

1. Shahada (Declaration of Faith)

The Shahada is the core testimony of a Muslim’s belief in the oneness of Allah and the prophethood of Muhammad. It serves as the entry point into Islam and is a constant reminder of the central creed.

2. Salah (Prayer)

Salah is a direct and regular connection between the believer and Allah. It emphasizes the importance of maintaining a spiritual connection throughout the day, fostering mindfulness, discipline, and gratitude.

3. Zakat (Charity)

4. Sawm (Fasting during Ramadan)

The Beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ said:

بُنِيَ الإِسْلاَمُ عَلَى خَمْسٍ شَهَادَةِ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَإِقَامِ الصَّلاَةِ وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ وَحَجِّ الْبَيْتِ وَصَوْمِ رَمَضَانَ

Translation:

Islam is structured on five pillars (Arkan e Islam): Testifying that there is none worthy of worship but Allah عَزَّوَجَلَّ , that Muhammad صَلَّی اللہُ تَعَالٰی عَلَیْہِ وَاٰلِہٖ وَسَلَّمَ is His bondsman and Messenger, the establishment of prayer, payment of Zakah, Pilgrimage to the House (Ka’ba) and the fast of Ramadan.
